About

Hi, I'm Heiko.

From a quiet cappuccino in Stellenbosch to a coaching business.

I want you to feel hygge about your financial and business decisions — that cozy, comfortable and confident feeling. Live a fulfilled life and realize your definition of quality of life. Based in Windhoek, Namibia, I work with clients worldwide.

Cappuccino on a wooden table in Stellenbosch — where the Hygge Wealth idea began

My Hygge Story

It started with a cappuccino.

Early 2024. I was sitting at a coffee shop in Cape Town, overlooking the beach at Blouberg, with Table Mountain in the background. Cyclists came past on their Sunday morning training rides. I was on my second cappuccino, fully present, breathing in the fresh sea breeze.

The waitress came over. "I came to ask if you are ok, because you look so calm and satisfied. If everyone was like you, we would live in such a peaceful world."

I was aware of my state. But I didn't expect it to be that obvious. And I didn't have the words for it yet.

A few days later I was back in my old student town, Stellenbosch. I wandered into a coffee shop on Dorp Street called Hygge Hygge. It just felt right. The next morning I was back for another cappuccino and avocado toast. That's when I noticed a sign above the counter:

A little hygge plan. Be curious. Go outside. Get to bed on time. Hydrate. Breathe from the diaphragm. Eat happy. Get a routine baggy enough to live in. Be kind. Accept that not everyone will like you. Appreciate those who do. Don't be defined. Allow mistakes. Want what you already have. Learn to say no to things that get in the way of life. And to say yes to the things that help you live.

That was the start. I started studying more about the hygge concept. It was the word that described what I'd felt at Blouberg. I started feeling it more often. And I wanted more of it.

Few people get to feel this regularly. So this became the foundation of my work: help more people feel hygge more often.

Hygge

No matter how you pronounce it — as long as you can feel it.

Hygge is a Scandinavian word. Imagine sitting in the cold winter months next to a fireplace, cuddled into a blanket with a warm cup of tea. That cozy, comfortable feeling — that's what hygge is all about. I want you to have this feeling when it comes to your financial and business decisions, and your life.

Background

An unusual combination.

I'm a Chartered Accountant who also worked as a personal trainer. I'm a Certified Financial Planner® who studied Human Design. I've got an Executive Masters in Sports Organisation Management through the IOC and studied AI with AI Pioneer Academy.

I saw the inside operations of many businesses as an auditor and gained experience as a consultant. I worked as CFO and co-founded a business. I led a team as director and shareholder in a stockbroking business and did portfolio management for wealth clients.

None of this was a big orchestrated plan. I followed my curiosity. Now I integrate and package all of these insights into my coaching to help my clients reach their next level.

Most wealth managers focus only on financial wealth, and many haven't built real wealth themselves. Most business coaches ignore personality and mindset. Most mindset coaches have no business expertise. I work the middle: technical depth, energetic alignment, and lived experience.

How I work.

Independent. I don't sell products. I don't take commissions. My advice is in your interest only.

Personal. I work with a small number of clients at a time. Everything is built around your situation, your personality, your goals.

Practical. We work on the things you'll actually live with. The strategy that fits the life you want, not the one a textbook would prescribe.
